Once Upon a Day
Once upon a day…
At my house, outside my door
A storm did brew….
Forces of nature and clouds gathered and grew
Winds blew hard and drove the rain in swirling chaos
We ran to batten down the hatches and huddled real close
To find shelter into the house and under the roof
Winds were blowing so hard…
Lightening lit up the sky
You could not see for the blinding rain
Thunder seemed to crush my ears, I felt the house vibrate and shake
And was in fear
And, through it all…
My favorite tree in my front yard, stood always constant for many a year
Now, I am so very sad…
My poor tree will never be
Never shade me from the scorching sun of a summer day
Never hear the rustling leaves of the tree speaking to me
I used to feed the birds from this lovely tree….
And watch these feathered friends, little squirrels & chipmunks come visit me in my tree
It made me so happy to be a part of nature
No more will that be…
This bad storm took away my tree
So now, I will pick up the pieces of my once lovely tree
I will always remember the joy it gave me
I pray a silent prayer for this once beautiful tree…
It meant a lot,
For it was a part of me in my history.
Things are always changing and blowing in the wind
I will start anew…
Plant another tree for Mother Nature and me.

I really liked it, being a sort of “regular Joe” I thought of a small bon
fire to celebrate the end of a trees life or some object made from the
wood of the tree furniture,flute,sculture
